Take a Deep Breath-Change Is Up Ahead

A runner nearing the finish line- perseverance and not quitting.

Have you ever noticed that sometimes we wake up in the morning and, before we even thank God for another day, our minds are already focused on everything that is wrong?

We think about the problems we are facing, the situations that may happen, or the emotions we are carrying. We think about our worries, our fears, and our uncertainties. And yes, these things are real. They are not things that can simply be swept under the rug and ignored.

But what if, before focusing on our problems, we took a moment to thank God for another day?

What if we said, “Lord, I know my problems are still there. I know my situations haven’t changed yet. But today, I choose to trust You.”

The Bible says:

“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)

What this scripture means to me is that if God created this day and tells us to rejoice in it, then He already has everything under control. Nothing catches Him by surprise.

Sometimes we believe that God is in control, but what we see with our natural eyes makes us feel discouraged. We try to figure everything out. We try to determine how things will work, when they will change, and what the outcome will be. Yet the more we try to control everything ourselves, the more defeated and exhausted we often become.

Trust is a big factor in all of our lives.

Sometimes we struggle to trust God because we have been disappointed by people. Others may have broken their promises, failed to keep their word, or let us down when we needed them most. Because of those experiences, we may unconsciously wonder if God will do the same.

But God is not like people.

The Bible says:

“Trust in the Lord will all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

If you are going through a difficult season today, remember that you are not alone. We all face challenges. We all encounter hardships. Life is filled with moments that test our faith and patience.

One of the greatest comforts we have as believers is knowing that we can go to our Heavenly Father in prayer. We can bring every burden, every concern, and every fear to Him.

Things may not change immediately. The answer may not come as quickly as we would like. But when we trust God, we can rest knowing that He understands the right timing, the right moment, and right season for everything.

The important thing is that we do not give up.

Life is much like running a race. Imagine running a marathon alongside others. Halfway through the race, you become tired and decide to stop. You were exhausted, discouraged, and ready to quit.

But what if the finish line was just ahead?

What if your breakthrough was only a short distance away?

You would never know because you stopped before reaching the finish line.

The same is true in life. Sometimes we are closer to our breakthrough than we realize. We may be closer to healing, restoration, provision, or answered prayer than we think. But if we quit, we may miss the very thing we have been believing God for.

I encourage you today: don’t quit.

Yes, things get hard. Yes, there are days when you feel weary. But don’t stop running your race.

Think about a glass of water. Some people see it as half full, while others see it as half empty. The difference is perspective.

Instead of focusing on what hasn’t happened yet, focus on the God who is still working behind the scenes.

Stay in the race.

Keep trusting God.

Keep believing.

Keep praying.

Take a deep breath. Inhale. Exhale.

And keep moving forward because change is up ahead.

Things will not always remain the same. God is still working, even when you cannot see it. Your season can change. Your situation can improve. Your answer can come.

So don’t quit halfway through the race.

Keep running.

Your breakthrough may be closer than you think.
