Trust the Process
“Trust the Process-God’s Timing Is Always Perfect” (Psalm 27:14)
Have you ever sat down and wondered, Does God know that I am here? Does He know what I am going through? Does He even care?
Sometimes, based on what we are facing in life, we ask ourselves these questions. The difficulties of life can cause us to question the God we serve. We may even believe that He is too busy to answer our prayers. But that is simply not true.
Psalm 34:6 says:
“This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.”
Psalm 34:17 also reminds us:
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.”
God is never too busy to hear and answer your prayers.
Most of the time, we are in a hurry. We live in what I call a microwave society. We want everything now. By man’s standards, we no longer have to wait for much of anything. When I was growing up, things that once took months can now be done in a matter of minutes. We can quickly find out if we are approved or denied. We can communicate instantly with people around the world.
Because society moves so fast, we sometimes forget what God says in Isaiah 55:8:
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, “declares the Lord.
God does not think like we do. His perspective is far greater than ours.
Think about a teenager who wants a car. They may feel completely ready to get behind the wheel. They can provide plenty of valid reasons why they need one. However, a wise parent may recognize that their son or daughter is not yet mature enough to handle that responsibility.
Every time the teenage asks for a car, the answer is no.
Does that mean the parents did not hear the request? Of course not.
Does it mean they do not care? Absolutely not.
The parents understand that giving the car too soon could place their child in danger. Their decision is not based on a lack of love but on wisdom, timing, and protection.
As time passes and the teenager matures, the parents eventually recognize that the time is right. One day, the son or daughter receives the car because they are now prepared to handle the responsibility that comes with it.
We often do the same thing with God.
When we pray and do not immediately receive what we asked for, we may become frustrated. We may think God does not care, does not understand, or is not listening.
But what if God is simply saying, “Not yet”?
What if He knows that what you are asking for requires more preparation, growth, or a different season of your life?
Psalm 84:11 says:
“No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”
If something is truly good for you, why would God withhold it?
There is a difference between a need and a want.
A need is something necessary for your well-being or survival. A want is something you desire. There is nothing wrong with either one. However, sometimes we desire things that may not be beneficial for us at that particular moment.
God sees what we cannot see.
He knows the roads ahead. He knows the opportunities, challenges, and blessings waiting around the corner. He knows the perfect timing for every answer.
So learn to pray and wait.
A delayed answer does not always mean a denied answer.
Perhaps God is moving things around on your behalf. Maybe He is opening doors that no one can shut. Maybe He is preparing a better opportunity than the one you are asking for right now.
You cannot fully figure God out, and you do not have to.
God is on your side.
He knows your name. He knows where you live. He knows your needs, your desires, your struggles, and your fears. He knows exactly how you are feeling at this very moment. Yes, there are times when we all become discouraged and wonder if God sees us.
The answer is yes.
Jeremiah 29:11 says:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
God has a plan for your life. Your future is not an accident. Your life has purpose, and God is actively working behind the scenes even when you cannot see it.
So the next time you feel as though God does not hear you, remember that He already has a timing designated for your answer. He alone knows why it may be taking longer than expected.
Remember, we do not serve a microwave God.
Slow down. Be patient. Listen. Follow His direction.
Trust that God knows exactly what He is doing.
Wait patiently on the Lord. Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart. Wait, I say, on the Lord (Psalm 27:14).
Trust the process. God’s timing is always worth the wait.
