“A Renewed Mind, A Healthier Life”
It’s so easy for us to get off track in many areas of life. For me, it often comes down to eating the right kinds of food-food that is healthy and nutritious. I realized years ago that in order to be disciplined in anything-even good eating habits-it must begin with a change in our mind.
DISCIPLINE STARTS IN OUR THINKING.
Sometimes I have to tell myself, “You don’t need that”, or “That’s enough”. The same is true with exercise. You have to make up your mind to do it daily. Is it easy? No. Is it possible? Absolutely. All things are possible when we commit ourselves to change.
Many of us struggle with unhealthy habits. We must learn to say no to certain things, to eat in moderation, and push away from the table when we are satisfied. Healthy eating is important. Exercise is vital. Together, they help us live longer, healthier lives.
DISCIPLINE TAKES WORK.
IT BEGINS WITH A MINDSET CHANGE.
When we change our thinking, we change our habits. And when we change our habits, we change our lives. The Bible reminds us in Romans 12:2 to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. Change doesn’t start on the plate or in the gym-it starts in the heart and the mind.
1 Corinthians 9:27 speaks about bringing the body under control. That means we don’t let our craving control us-we learn to govern them. Self control is part of the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). It is not about perfection; It is about progress and daily surrender.
When we change our thinking we change our habits. When we change our habits, we change our lifestyle. And when we surrender our mindset to Christ, He gives us the strength to do what feels impossible.
Discipline is not punishment.
Discipline is preparation.
Discipline is stewardship of the body God has given us.
Is it easy? No.
Is It Possible? Yes-through Christ who strengthens us.
It all begins with a mindset change.
And with God’s help, change is always possible.
