It’s Working for Your Good

It’s Working for Your Good” Genesis 50:20

Genesis 50:20

“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good….”

When Life Doesn’t Make Sense

In Genesis chapters 37-50, we follow the life of Joseph-a man with a dream, a calling, and a destiny. Yet everything that happened to him seemed to contradict what God showed him.

Joseph shared his dreams with his brothers, and instead of support, he received hatred and jealousy. They mocked him, asking if he would rule over them. Eventually, their jealousy turned into action-they threw him into a pit and sold him into slavery.

From the outside, it looked like Joseph’s life was falling apart. But in reality, God’s plan was unfolding.

God’s Plan cannot be stopped

Even when Joseph’s brothers plotted to kill him, God intervened by using Reuben to spare his life. That moment reminds us:

When God has a plan for your life, no enemy can destroy it.

1 Peter 5:8 warns us that the enemy is always seeking whom he may devour. But Isaiah 54:17 assures us that no weapon formed against us will prosper.

The enemy may try-but he cannot win.

Your Destiny Is Secure

Joseph had a destiny-to save a nation. And no matter what he went through-betrayal, slavery, prison-he still arrived at his purpose.

Just like Paul the Apostle, who endured prison, shipwreck, and even a snake bite, yet still made it to Rome as God promised (Acts 23:11).

When God declares your destination, nothing can cancel it.

When Your Reality Doesn’t Match the Promise

Imagine Joseph in the pit…then in chains…then in prison.

His reality didn’t match his dream.

Have you ever felt that way?

You’re holding onto a promise, but your current situation looks nothing like it. Discouragement tries to creep in. Doubt whispers, “Did God really say?”

But Remember:

Jeremiah 29:11-God’s plans for you are good, full of hope and a future. Even when you don’t understand, God is still working..

The Process Is Preparing You

Joseph’s journey wasn’t punishment-it was preparation.

God used every trial to shape him, humble him, and prepare him for leadership.

Luke 12:48-To whom much is given, much is required.

Sometimes the “boot camp” seasons of life are necessary. They remove pride, build character, and strengthen faith.

It may not feel good-but it’s working for your good.

God Has a Set Time

Joseph spent years in prison. It may have felt like God forgot him.

But then suddenly-everything changed.

One day, he was remembered. One day, the door opened. One day, he stepped into purpose.

God has a set time for your breakthrough.

You Will Make It

Romans 8:28 reminds us that all things work together for good.

Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to trust in the Lord with all of our heart and not lean on our own understanding.

You may not be able to figure it out-but you don’t have to.

God is in Control.

The Battle Is Not Yours

2 Chronicles 20:15-The battle is not yours, but God’s.

Whatever you are facing today-don’t give up.

  • God sees you

  • God knows your struggle

  • God has already written your victory

Final Encouragement

You are not stuck-you are being positioned.

You are not forgotten-you are being prepared.

You are not defeated-you are more than a conqueror.

Psalm 62:8-Trust confidently in God at all times. Pour out your heart before Him. God is your refuge.

Remember This:

What was meant for evil…God is turning it for your good.
