You Shall Recover All

In First Samuel chapter 30, we see David and his men coming home to Ziglag, where they lived with their wives and children. They returned to a place that was completely destroyed, and their wives and children were gone.

Can you imagine the distress they felt?

David, who was the leader, felt even greater distress because the men were with him. But in this chapter we see a shift from distress to prayer. David calls Abiathar the priest in 1 Samuel 30:7, saying, “I pray thee, bring me the ephod.”

David then inquires of the Lord in 1 Samuel 30:8, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them? And the Lord answered him, “Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.”

Brothers and sisters, David did not stay where he was once he prayed. He moved by faith. He experienced the God he served.

David began to pursue the enemy, just as God told him to do. Remember, God said, “You shall overtake them and without fail recover all.”

Do not be afraid to pray and let God work in your situation. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He will allow you to recover all. It could be your health, finances, family, or job-it does not matter. Trust in Him to do the work. All you need to do is open your ears to hear what He has to say to you today.

Did David and his men recover all? Oh yes, they did?

In 1 Samuel 30:18, it says, “And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.”

Verse 19 says, “And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor anything that they had taken to them: David recovered all!”

Everything that David and his men lost, they got back. They even received what belonged to the enemy. God gave it back to them.

Be encouraged today. Whatever has been taken from you is not the end of your story. The same God who helped David recover all is the same God who is working in your life today. What looks like loss right now is only temporary in God’s hands.

Just as David Sought the Lord and moved forward in faith, you must also trust God and follow His direction. When you place your situation in His hands, He is able to restore what was lost and bless you beyond what you imagined.

Take time today to read “1 Samuel 30:1-31 and allow the Lord to speak to your heart. Remember the promise God gave David: “You shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

Hold on to that promise. The same God who restored David will restore you. What was taken will not be the final word-God’s restoration will be.

Stand in faith, trust His voice, and move forward. In God’s perfect time, you too shall recover all.

Blessings.
