Be Careful What Comes Out of Your Mouth

Your words carry Power. Through faith and prayer, God calls us to speak life.

In the Gospel of Matthew Chapter 12, verse 37, it says:

“For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced.”

It is just the same as if we go into a natural courtroom and everything is based on what we say to the judge. Either we can be acquitted and set free, or we can be condemned and found guilty. It does not mean that we will not get an opportunity to prove our case. What it means is that we must be careful at all times about what comes out of our mouths.

The Gospel of Mark 11:23 also speaks about what we say:

“Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' ‘and does not doubt at all in his heart, but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.”

So we see that even in this scripture, the spoken word matters. What comes out of our mouths by faith has power. If we believe what we say and believe what God’s Word says, we can speak to the mountain and it must obey. whatever the situation may be, it must obey. The Bible says it will be lifted up and thrown into the sea if we do not doubt in our hearts.

The Bible also says that without faith it is impossible to please God. Therefore, we have to believe that God can do the impossible. Have faith in God. Speak what you want God to do and believe Him that it is already done.

In the Gospel of Matthew 8:5-13, we read about the centurion who came to Jesus. Although he was not part of Israel, he believed in Jesus Christ and what He was able to do. He came to Jesus because he had a servant whom he loved, and that servant was paralyzed.

When he found Jesus, he said to Him, “My servant is sick, and I want him to be healed.”

Jesus told him that He would come to his house, but the centurion replied, “I am not worthy for You to come under my roof. Just speak the word.”

Jesus spoke the word, and immediately the servant was healed. Jesus responded by saying:

“I have not found such great faith in all Israel.”

You see, it takes faith to move the heart of God.

Sometimes things look impossible. Sometimes situations seem like they will never change, never be fixed, and never get better. Sometimes we may even wonder what the point of praying is because nothing appears different. But we must continue to speak by faith and declare what we believe God can do.

What is it that you want God to do for you today? What have you been bringing before the Lord day after day?

Be like the persistent widow in the parable Jesus spoke about. She kept going to the unjust judge until he finally answered her persistence. Jesus said that if an unjust judge would respond, how much more will God respond to His children who cry out to Him day and night?

Sometimes the struggle is not that God cannot do it. The struggle is believing that He will.

Today, whatever it is that you stand in need of, bring it before the Lord. Believe Him, leave it there, and thank Him for doing it. Praise Him in advance for answering your prayers.

The Bible says to make your requests known unto God. He already knows what you need, but He still wants you to ask. Do not be afraid to pray.

Today, make it a point to ask God for what you need and what you desire. He said He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I pray for every person reading this devotional today. Lord, I ask that You would grant them the desires of their hearts as long as those desires line up with Your will. Your Word says, “Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. “ Today, I pray that every hearts desire that aligns with Your purpose will come to pass in Jesus’ name.

Strengthen their faith, remove doubt, and help them to trust You completely. Teach us all to speak words of faith, life, hope, and victory.
