Rise, Shine, Give God the Glory

Rise, Shine, Give God the Glory.” A woman sitting on a mountain side peaceful as she watches the sun rising.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

What is the first thing that you do when you get up in the morning? What do you think about? Matter of fact, even before you go to bed, what’s the last thing that is on your mind? And what is your first thought when you wake up? What is your thought pattern for the day? Do you go back to the last thing that you lay down with last night? Or do you rise up refreshed in your thoughts, that God has everything in your life in control?

What are the distractions that you’re facing daily? What are the thoughts that you are thinking about? What makes you feel the way that you do even today? Sometimes in life, many of us can take a look at what’s happening in the world, and it may bring us to a place in our lives where we feel so discouraged. We may feel as if the load that we’re under is something we’ll never get out from underneath.

You may be going through marital issues. You may be having difficulties with your children. You may be facing a financial crisis, a health crisis, or so many different things. And then, on top of it, when you look at the condition of the world and the economy, you wonder, “God, where do I fit in any of this? Will I ever be able to succeed? Will my life ever change? Will things ever turn around in my life?”

But I want to encourage you today. I want to let you know that God has every single thing concerning your life in His hands. It may seem like you’re walking alone. It may seem like these struggles that you’re facing will never end. But Jesus said: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”-John 10:10, KJV

Today, I just want to encourage you. No matter what you see that’s going on in the world, know that God knows where you are today. He knows your uprising when you get up, and He knows your downsitting when you lay down. The Bible says: “Thou Knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar offl.” Psalm 139:2, KJV

He knows everything about you, and He promised that He will take care of you. So, when you lay down this evening, lay down with the assurance that God has everything in control. You cannot change what may happen tomorrow, but you can trust the One who already knows what tomorrow holds. In Jeremiah 29:11, God says: “For I know the thoughts I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”-Jeremiah 29:11, KJV. Oh, you may say, “Yes, my future looks very dim.” But God has a greater plan in store for you. God has a good plan-a plan for your life, a plan for your family, and a plan to restore you.

Yes, we must continue to have faith in God. We have to continue to believe, even when things look so grim. Even when we get up with that thought in our minds that things are not going to work, we have to somehow find a way to hold on to God and His Word. The Bible says: “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”-Romans 10:17, KJV. You don’t need my opinion. You don’t need someone else’s opinion. You need to know what God says about you. You need His thoughts and His words, because our words can fail. We may not keep our promises, but God’s Word and His promises never fails.

So when you wake up in the morning, before your mind starts rambling all over the place, and those negative thoughts enter in, rise and shine and give God the glory! Start your day with Him. Give Him your thoughts. Give Him your worries. Give Him your fears. Trust Him with your future. You may not know what today will bring, but you know the One who holds today and tomorrow in His hands.

Rise. Shine. Give God the glory! Have a wonderful and an awesome blessed day!!
