What Are You Waiting For? God’s Timing Is Always Perfect

Sometimes in life, we have to wait. Waiting is one of the hardest things, I believe, for anybody to do. When we go to the doctor, we have to waif for the results. When we are giving birth, we have to wait for that appointed time for the baby to come. If we’re getting married we have to wait for that day. There are good things to wait for, as well as things that we don’t want to hear because it is bad. But nevertheless, waiting becomes difficult. And so therefore, sometimes we want to avoid waiting. There are some situations that we cannot get around, that we have to wait on.
But I realize that when we begin to get anxious about something, the Word of God tells us, “Be anxious for nothing, but by prayer and supplication make your request known unto God, and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding shall guard our hearts and our minds.” Philippians 4:6-7. That’s because in the waiting process, we get so anxious that we try to do things on our own and try to do it ourselves. But if we understand that simply allowing God to give us peace, trusting, believing, that in the wait, it is only just a process.
We can’t see, it’s like getting married. You know you have the dress, you have the bridesmaids, you know when the day is, you know up to the final hour, But it is the excitement, the joy of that day, You just want it to be now, at that present moment. But you still have to wait because you know that it’s going to be a joyous occasion.
It’s also like the coming of Jesus Christ. We know according to the Word of God that He is coming back. He’s going to return. And those of us that are born again are waiting for that day, waiting and expecting that He is going to return one day. And we’re filled with that joy and anticipation. Sometimes, when were facing dilemmas in our lives, we say, Oh boy, we wish He could come now. But it is also a waiting process. For the Word of God tells us we don’t know the day nor the hour when Jesus is returning. But He said occupy, do what He has given us to do while we’re waiting.
Waiting can be incredibly difficult, but breakthroughs happen when promises are finally revealed. True joy is often born out of seasons of waiting. For instance, when you are anxiously awaiting a doctor’s report, it is easy to assume the worst. The period of waiting can feel endless, filled with intense fear and dread. However, when the results finally arrive and turn out to be excellent, that overwhelming worry is instantly replaced with pure joy.
Yes, waiting is something that we naturally dislike doing, but along the way, know that God is standing with you. He is right there in the midst of your uncertainty. He will never leave you, and He will never forsake you. Even when the silence feels overwhelming, His presence is constant. Your season of waiting is not wasted time; it is a sacred space where He strengthens your faith, binds up your fears, and prepares your heart for the joy that is coming.
